Crystalyne \ Vectran Core Polyester Sleeve Rope
Available withMaxijacket coating
Data
Shock loads: All high-modulus fibered ropes have low stretch and little tolerance for shock loads. It is ill advised to select a high-strength rope in an attempt to solve shock-loading problems. Yale Crystalyne is made to Yale Cordage Specification #YCI-DV-095.
Yale Crystalyne is a double-braided rope consisting of a polyester sleeve covering an inner loadbearing core of LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer). Liquid Crystal Polymer is more tolerant of bending than other high-modulus fibers. Unlike UHMPE ropes, LCP thrives at high loads and doesn’t have a creep-to-failure mode.
Yale Crystalyne is identified by a single black and a single yellow strand separated by four white strands braided into the sleeve.

Specific Gravity: 1.40
More information on Vectran fiber is available at www.vectran.net.
Dielectric Strength
LCP is a hydrophobic fiber giving it high dielectric
strength equal to Maxibraid Plus.
LCP also has high temperature melt point (621°F) similar to Aramid fibers.

Elastic Elongation
The colored area under the curve represents the rope’s energy-absorption capability.
- Green working 242 ft. lbs./lb.
- Red ultimate 3,200 ft. lbs./lb.
