GlideLine

GlideLine is a double-braid HMPE underground pulling rope assembly purpose-built for utility, telecom, and construction installations. Engineered with an HMPE core and jacket, GlideLine delivers maximum strength, abrasion resistance, and controlled elongation, with a protective coating and REDLIGHT™ Technology to improve conduit protection and jobsite efficiency.

GlideLine

Pull Smarter, Not Harder.

GlideLine is Yale Cordage’s premier underground pulling rope assembly, engineered to perform in the most demanding conduit environments. Built with a double-braid HMPE construction, GlideLine uses both an HMPE core and HMPE jacket to deliver maximum strength, abrasion resistance, and controlled elongation during high-load pulls. Its specialized anti-sawing / anti-abrasion coating protects conduit from damage and minimizes heat buildup—one of the primary failure modes in underground installations.

A defining feature of GlideLine is its REDLIGHT™ Technology: a highly visible red end-of-run coating that alerts operators before the rope reaches its termination point, improving workflow efficiency and helping prevent costly miscommunication during underground pulls. GlideLine is available in standard 4,000 ft lengths, with custom assemblies available upon request to support utility, telecom, and construction applications.

Purpose-built for durability in tough environments while remaining gentle on conduit, GlideLine delivers a pulling solution that reduces equipment wear, resists sawing effects, and maintains smooth operation across extended runs. Laboratory and field data confirm substantial reductions in conduit abrasion compared to typical 12-strand products, making GlideLine a next-generation tool for underground installation professionals.

Key Features

  • Double-Braid HMPE Construction: Built with an HMPE core and HMPE jacket engineered to withstand the harsh, abrasive conditions of underground pulling without cutting or sawing into conduit.
  • Anti-Sawing Performance: Features a specialized anti-abrasion coating that significantly reduces conduit sawing, as demonstrated in both lab and field trials.
  • REDLIGHT™ End-of-Run Indicator: Includes 35 ft of high-visibility red coating to notify operators as the rope approaches the end of the run, improving safety and operational awareness.
  • Gentle on Conduit: Dramatically reduces abrasion and cutting compared to conventional 12-strand pulling ropes, protecting conduit infrastructure and reducing maintenance costs.
  • Long-Length Availability: Offered in standard 4,000 ft assemblies with custom lengths available for specialized underground applications.
  • 2 Available Splices: A 4-inch soft eye with Cordura chafe and double link on the inside end of reel with red light technology coating; 4-inch soft eye with Cordura chafe outside end of reel

(Optional splice with exposed core for quicker in field repair available [as shown in picture]).
